About the role:
BCEI is looking for a Construction Manager to lead data centre construction delivery. You'll manage the site, contractors, programme, cost and quality through to operational handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead construction delivery on site — programme, budget, quality and the contractor teams who execute it
- Own safety management from design through construction to operational handover, with zero tolerance for anything less than industry-leading standards
- Drive contract negotiations and manage contractor performance, holding the commercial line without compromising quality
- Coordinate external consultants across structural, architectural and M&E design to land cost-effective, resilient infrastructure
- Identify and close out project risks early, and push for opportunities to innovate design and de-risk the programme
- Keep local permitting and authority approvals on track, including liaison with power authorities on electricity supply
- Report progress, cost and cash flow to senior management on a fortnightly and monthly cycle
- Build and run a complete handover system into the operations team
Talent Profile:
- 10+ years in construction project management, at senior level
- Substantial data centre and/or construction/engineering industry experience, ideally in mission-critical environments
- Delivery track record on large capital projects with heavy M&E dependence
- In-depth knowledge of general building, M&E works and local authority approval processes
- Strong grounding in health and safety legislation, including CDM regulations
- Engineering degree — B.Eng or BSc.Eng, or Construction Management
- Business-fluent English; other APAC languages a plus
- Proficient in MS Project and the wider MS Office suite
