- Technical Leadership: Review and approve technical drawings, calculations, and simulations (using PVsyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope, or PVsol) prepared by junior engineers.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure designs comply with the Guidelines for Solar Accelerated Transition Action Programme (Solar ATAP), Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga) technical guidelines, TNB grid interconnection standards, relevant Malaysian Standards (MS IEC), and requirements under the Electricity Supply Act 1990.
- Grid Connection & Regulatory Liaison: Manage or oversee Connection Assessment Study (CAS) and Connection Confirmation Check (CCC) processes with TNB, including submissions via TNB's Generation Connection Management System (GCMS) for Power System Study (PSS) assessments where applicable.
- Project Execution Support: Collaborate with procurement, project management, and construction teams to resolve technical site issues during installation and commissioning.
- R&D and Innovation: Evaluate new solar technologies, inverter types (including inverters with SCTC / fault-current-mitigation approval), BESS integration, and mounting systems to improve plant efficiency and reduce costs.
