Our client is a growing rent-to-own and consumer financing company in Malaysia, providing flexible payment solutions to customers. They are currently expanding their Collections & Recovery team to support business growth.

About the Role

We are looking for a driven and resilient Field Debt Collector to join our Collections & Recovery team.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing overdue accounts through field visits, customer engagement, payment negotiation, account verification, and recovery activities. You will work directly with customers to understand their situations, secure repayment commitments, and support the recovery of outstanding accounts.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, meeting customers, solving problems, and achieving measurable targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Visit customers at their registered or identified locations to follow up on overdue accounts.
• Discuss outstanding balances with customers and encourage timely repayment.
• Negotiate repayment arrangements based on the customer's situation and company guidelines.
• Follow up on agreed payment commitments and monitor repayment progress.
• Serve collection notices and other documents where necessary.
• Carry out address verification and skip-tracing activities when customers cannot be reached.
• Assist the recovery team with asset retrieval or repossession cases when required.
• Plan daily field activities efficiently to maximise successful recovery outcomes.
• Work towards monthly recovery and collection targets.
• Record visit results, customer feedback and follow-up actions accurately.
• Update case progress promptly through the company's mobile or field management system.
• Maintain professional conduct during all customer interactions and ensure recovery activities follow company policies and applicable regulations.

Requirements

Education

• SPM or Diploma holders with relevant collection or recovery experience are encouraged to apply.

Experience

• 0–2 years of experience in debt collection, repossession, field recovery, or enforcement.
• Experience in hire purchase, leasing, financing, or rent-to-own industries will be an advantage.

Additional Requirements

• Valid Malaysian driving licence.
• Own transportation.
• Willing to travel extensively for customer visits.
