Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the overall Material Department, including material planning, inventory control, warehouse, and logistics activities.
• Develop material plans based on production schedules, customer demand, and inventory requirements.
• Ensure sufficient raw materials and components are available to support production without interruption.
• Monitor inventory levels and prevent material shortages, excess stock, and obsolete inventory.
• Coordinate with Purchasing and suppliers regarding material delivery schedules, shortages, delays, and urgent requirements.
• Work closely with Production, Planning, Quality, Engineering, and other departments to resolve material-related issues.
• Monitor supplier delivery performance and take corrective action when delivery problems affect production.
• Oversee incoming materials, storage, material issuance, and stock movement.
• Ensure inventory records in ERP/MRP systems are accurate and regularly reconciled with physical stock.
• Lead stock counts, cycle counts, and inventory audits.
• Identify opportunities to reduce material costs, inventory holding costs, and material wastage.
• Establish and improve SOPs for material planning, inventory management, warehousing, and material handling.
• Prepare and review material-related reports, KPIs, shortages, inventory status, and delivery performance.
• Manage and develop the Material Department team, including assigning responsibilities, monitoring performance, and providing training.
• Ensure material operations comply with company policies, safety requirements, quality standards, and applicable regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in material management, supply chain, production planning, warehouse, or manufacturing operations.
• Previous experience in a managerial or department-head position is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of material planning, inventory control, warehouse management, and production requirements.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, planning, and decision-making skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills, especially when working with suppliers and cross-functional departments.
• Ability to manage urgent material shortages and changing production priorities.

Pay: From RM3,000.00 per month
