IT Executive – Networking Role Overview
We are looking for an IT Executive – Networking to manage and maintain the hotel’s network infrastructure and ensure reliable connectivity across guest and operational areas. The role will support day-to-day networking, troubleshooting, network security, guest Wi-Fi, and connectivity for critical hotel systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Network Infrastructure
- Manage and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, switches, routers, firewalls, and access points.
- Monitor network performance, bandwidth utilization, and connectivity.
- Configure and troubleshoot network devices.
- Ensure reliable connectivity across guest rooms, lobby, restaurants, meeting rooms, offices, and back-office areas.
- Maintain IP addressing, VLANs, network diagrams, and network documentation.
2. Guest Wi-Fi
- Ensure stable and high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity for hotel guests.
- Monitor and troubleshoot guest Wi-Fi issues.
- Manage guest authentication and access controls.
- Coordinate with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) for bandwidth and connectivity issues.
3. Hotel Systems & Applications
- Support network connectivity for PMS, POS, CCTV, access-control systems, telephones/VoIP, printers, and other hotel technology.
- Coordinate with vendors for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure critical hotel systems remain connected and operational.
4. Network Security
- Implement and maintain firewall and network security policies.
- Monitor unauthorized access and suspicious network activity.
- Maintain separate VLANs/networks for guests, employees, CCTV, POS, and critical hotel systems.
- Ensure network equipment is regularly updated and patched.
5. Troubleshooting & Technical Support
- Diagnose and resolve network outages, slow connectivity, Wi-Fi issues, and hardware failures.
- Provide technical support to hotel staff.
- Respond quickly to network issues affecting hotel operations or guests.
- Escalate complex issues to ISPs and external vendors when required.
6. Monitoring & Maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance of network infrastructure.
- Monitor network devices and identify potential failures.
- Maintain an inventory of IT and network equipment.
- Perform regular backups of network configurations.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in IT/networking support.
- Experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred.
- Good knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, VPN, LAN/WAN, and Wi-Fi.
- Hands-on experience with switches, routers, firewalls, and access points.
- Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Good understanding of IT and network security.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Exposure to PMS, POS, CCTV, VoIP, and other hotel technology systems is an advantage.
- Good communication and coordination skills for working with hotel staff, ISPs, and external vendors.
