Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Business Technology Engineer to support business teams in adopting AI, automation, analytics, and digital workflow solutions. This role sits within the transformation team and works closely with assigned departments to understand business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and translate operational needs into practical technology-enabled solutions. The successful candidate will help design dashboards, automate repetitive work, analyse data, document requirements, and support the rollout of AI-enabled tools that improve productivity, customer experience, and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with assigned business departments to understand workflows, pain points, user needs, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Translate business requirements into clear documentation, including process maps, user stories, functional specifications, solution flows, and acceptance criteria.
- Design, build, test, and deploy automation solutions using low-code/no-code platforms, workflow tools, scripting, APIs, and other appropriate technologies.
- Identify repetitive manual processes and recommend practical AI, automation, or system-integration solutions that improve efficiency and reduce operational effort.
- Develop interactive dashboards, self-service analytics, KPI trackers, and management reports using Power BI, Power Pivot, Excel, or equivalent tools.
- Collect, clean, validate, and analyse data from business systems to generate insights that support decision-making and performance monitoring.
- Support the development and deployment of AI-enabled solutions, including prompt-based tools, intelligent assistants, predictive models, and workflow automation.
- Work with IT colleagues to ensure solutions follow security, data governance, integration, and application development best practices.
- Provide training, user support, and knowledge transfer to promote adoption of dashboards, automation tools, and AI-driven solutions.
- Track delivery progress, capture realised benefits, and continuously improve solutions based on user feedback and business outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 1–4 years of relevant experience in business analysis, automation, analytics, application support, digital transformation, or technology delivery.
- Working knowledge of Python, SQL, Power Apps, or other automation and workflow tools.
- Experience developing dashboards, reports, or data models using Power BI, Excel Power Pivot, or equivalent platforms.
- Good understanding of data analysis, data cleansing, data visualisation, and working with structured and unstructured information.
- Exposure to AI, machine learning, large language models, prompt engineering, or intelligent automation concepts.
- Familiarity with APIs, databases, system integration concepts, and basic solution architecture documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and work effectively across business and IT teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification or practical training in Agile, business analysis, data analytics, or AI-related tools.
- Experience supporting business functions such as Finance, Payroll, Tax, Corporate Secretarial, Client Services, or shared services operations.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement practices.
- Interest in emerging technologies, including generative AI, agentic AI, analytics automation, and digital workflow transformation.
