Key Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend applications using Java and Node.js.

2. Architect scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions for enterprise environments.

3. Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity while ensuring all AI-generated code is thoroughly reviewed, tested, and meets engineering standards.

4. Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and champion software quality across the development team.

5. Write clean, well-documented, maintainable, and testable code with comprehensive unit and integration tests.

6. Troubleshoot complex production issues and optimise application performance.

7. Collaborate closely with Product, DevOps, Infrastructure, and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality software.

8. Participate in solution design, technical planning, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making.

9. Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning, engineering excellence, and accountability.

10. Continuously evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and AI-assisted development practices that improve team productivity without compromising software quality.

Responsibilities

• We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong experience in Java and Node.js to design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications. The ideal candidate embraces modern AI-assisted (“vibe”) coding practices to accelerate development while maintaining a strong commitment to code quality, security, performance, and maintainability through rigorous code reviews and engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Required Qualifications:
• 1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 2. 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3. Strong hands-on experience with Java and Node.js.
• 4. Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• 5. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software design patterns, and clean architecture principles.
• 6. Solid experience with relational databases and SQL.
• 7. Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile software development methodologies.
• 8. Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• 9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
