Job Title: Internship – Geo Sample Operations

Location: Ulu Kelang, Kuala Lumpur
Duration: Starting September 2026 (Minimum 6-8 months, extendable based on academic requirements)

Internship Intake Periods:

• Quarter 1: January – March
• Quarter 3: July – September
• Open intake: Applications are welcome and will be considered throughout the quarter

Working Hours:
Monday–Friday, 8.00 AM – 5.00 PM (1-hour lunch break)

Job Description:
Polygon Synergy Ventures (PSV) offers internship opportunities for students seeking hands-on experience in geological sample operations. This role provides structured training and guidance in sample handling, digital documentation, and data management within a professional laboratory environment.

Interns will gain exposure to real industrial workflows, technical procedures, and digital reporting systems used in the oil & gas sector.

Key Responsibilities:
Receive, sort, and label geological samples (core, cuttings, mud)
Perform data entry and maintain records in Excel and internal systems
Support packing, layout setup, and sampling
Assist in preservation tasks (resin coating, vacuum sealing, plugging)
Capture and edit core photographs
Participate in sample projects (reboxing, thin sections, relabelling)

Requirements (Field of study):
Geoscience,
Petroleum Engineering,
Earth Sciences or related.
Good attention to detail, responsible, team-oriented

High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data formatting, formulas, pivot tables, and charting)
