Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end execution of HV substation projects and electrical infrastructure projects (TNB and/or private clients) from planning through commissioning and handover.

• Develop and manage project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.

• Coordinate and liaise with clients (including TNB), consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution and alignment of requirements.

• Monitor project progress, identify risks and delays, and implement effective mitigation and recovery actions to achieve project objectives.

• Ensure full compliance with HSE requirements (DOSH, PTW system, company safety standards) and promote a strong safety culture on site.

• Oversee technical activities including design reviews, material approval, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning.

• Manage project cost control, including budget tracking, variation orders (VO), forecasting, and financial reporting.

• Ensure compliance with TNB technical standards, regulatory requirements, QA/QC procedures, and project specifications.

• Prepare and submit project progress reports, risk updates, and documentation to management and stakeholders.

• Lead and supervise site teams including engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors, ensuring effective coordination and performance.

• Ensure effective interfacing between engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning teams.

• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement across project teams.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

• Must have at least 3 to 4 years of experience as a Project Manager leading substation or electrical infrastructure projects, and a minimum of 10 years of total experience in the construction industry.

• Proven experience handling HV projects (132kV and above preferred).

• In-depth understanding of HV substation design, equipment, protection systems, construction practices, testing, and commissioning. Familiarity with Malaysian electrical regulations, TNB Technical Standards, and relevant international standards (IEC, IEEE).

• Strong knowledge of TNB and Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) requirements, Proven track record managing both TNB substation projects and/or consumer substation projects.

• Proficient in project management software (MS Project, Primavera P6), MS Office Suite, and document management systems.

• Excellent project management, leadership, and stakeholder coordination skills

• Must willing to be relocated depending on the project location.
