About HealthMetrics
HealthMetrics is a leading Third Party Administrator (TPA). Our corporate clients appoint us to manage their employees' healthcare benefits, and we settle medical bills on their behalf. Finance is where every one of those payments lands.
About the Role
We are looking for an intern to join us, starting as soon as possible and running until January 2027, reporting to the Finance Manager. You will support the payments and collections cycle and gain hands-on exposure to reimbursement processing, invoicing, collections, and month-end activities.
Key Responsibilities
Payment Management
- Update corporate payments in the HealthMetrics system and Oracle NetSuite based on bank statements, keeping financial records accurate and up to date.
Reimbursement Processing
- Update Panel and Non-Panel reimbursement payments in the system and send payment advice to stakeholders once payment is confirmed.
- Panel: members receive cashless treatment at clinics and hospitals contracted by HealthMetrics. Non-Panel: members pay first and claim reimbursement from HealthMetrics.
Invoicing & Collections
- Prepare and issue invoices to corporate clients.
- Monitor outstanding invoices, run reminder cycles, and escalate unresolved overdue payments to the Finance Manager.
Expense Management
- Review expense claims and supplier invoices against supporting documents.
- Ensure expenses are correctly recorded and coded in the accounting system, flagging any discrepancies for review.
Payment Resolution
- Investigate bounced payments caused by incorrect banking information, verify details against supporting documents, and prepare corrections for manager approval.
Corporate Account Support
- Assist in preparing account payment forms for corporate clients.
Month-End Support
- Gather and organise supporting documents for the monthly close.
- Follow up on missing records and update schedules using existing templates.
Process Documentation
- Document procedures for assigned tasks and contribute to Finance SOP updates and improvements.
AI Tools
- Use approved AI tools to draft follow-ups, summarise documents, and review work, verifying all outputs before use.
- Use company, client, and member data only within HealthMetrics-approved platforms.
Ad Hoc
- Support the Finance team with additional assignments and short-term projects as required.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, and VLOOKUP and/or XLOOKUP.
- Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail, with the discipline to check your own work before submission.
- Comfortable asking questions and escalating issues early.
- Familiar with AI tools and able to critically assess AI-generated output.
- No prior work experience or accounting software experience required. Oracle NetSuite training will be provided.
Why Join Us?
- Practical exposure to finance operations in a healthcare technology company.
