Build Something From the Ground Up

I’m looking for a co-founder and founding partner to join me in building Detour, a social platform designed to help people discover things to do, meet others, and turn plans into experiences.

This isn't a traditional employment position. You would be joining as a founding partner.

What I'm Looking For

I'm looking for someone who wants to take ownership, build aggressively, and have a genuine stake in what we're creating.

You don't need to know everything. What matters more is that you're:

• Highly motivated and self-driven
• Comfortable working in an early-stage environment
• Willing to take ownership rather than waiting for instructions
• Interested in technology, startups, social platforms, or product development
• Able to think creatively and challenge ideas
• Comfortable with uncertainty and building something that doesn't have all the answers yet
• Someone who wants to build a company, not simply work on another project

Your Role

Your exact role can be shaped around your strengths.

I'm particularly interested in someone who can contribute significantly in areas such as:

Technology & Product

• App/web development
• Architecture and technical decision-making
• Product development
• UX/UI and user experience
• AI and emerging technologies

Business & Growth

• Business strategy
• User acquisition and growth
• Marketing
• Partnerships
• Community building
• Fundraising and investor relationships

You don't have to be an expert in every area. I'm looking for someone who can own a major part of the business and grow with it.

Compensation & Equity

This is a founding-partner opportunity, rather than a salaried position.

There will be no fixed salary initially. Compensation will begin once Detour generates sufficient revenue/profit or secures appropriate funding to support founder compensation.

In return, the co-founder will receive meaningful equity in the company, subject to a formal founders' agreement and a standard vesting structure.

The intention is for this to be a genuine partnership, not unpaid employment.

As Detour grows, the founding team would participate in the value created through their equity. The company may also pursue external investment, accelerator programs, or other startup funding as the business develops, with founder equity structured accordingly.
