Responsibilities

Field Sales & Distribution

• Call on assigned retailers and wholesalers daily to secure product listings and ensure accurate shelf placement.
• Execute delivery checks and manage stock rotation to avoid out-of-stock or expired product issues.
• Grow distribution points in your territory through targeted outreach and follow-up visits.

Account Growth & Merchandising

• Implement simple in-store merchandising plans and planograms to improve visibility and drive sales.
• Negotiate promotional placements and short-term deals with store owners to increase trial and repeat purchases.
• Track sales uplift from promotions and suggest practical adjustments for future activities.

Reporting & Planning

• Record daily call reports and maintain accurate sales logs using mobile reporting tools or spreadsheets.
• Forecast short-term demand and communicate stock needs to distributors and the sales lead.
• Monitor competitor activity at retail and share clear, actionable insights with the team.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum SPM or Diploma equivalent, with at least 2 years of sales experience in FMCG, retail, or distribution channels.
• Proven track record of meeting sales targets or expanding retail coverage in a defined territory.
• Own transport and willingness to travel daily within the assigned region.

Hard Skills & Knowledge

• Practical knowledge of retail merchandising, stock rotation, and basic trade promotion mechanics.
• Comfortable using mobile data entry, Google Sheets or Excel for daily reporting and simple sales analysis.
• Basic negotiation and cash handling experience when dealing with small retailers.
• Familiarity with distributor relationships and order replenishment processes.

Soft Skills & Qualities

• Confident communicator who can build rapport quickly with shop owners and distributors.
• Organised, reliable, and results-oriented with a hands-on attitude in the field.
• Curious and coachable, open to feedback and quick to apply practical improvements.
• Able to work independently yet collaborate closely with the sales lead and marketing team.
