Project cum Site Manager
We are seeking an experienced Project cum Site Manager to manage the planning, production coordination, transportation, and on-site installation of precast concrete beams. The successful candidate will ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with technical and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Management
- Plan and schedule precast beam production, transportation, delivery, and installation.
- Coordinate with design engineers to ensure shop drawings and structural requirements are properly reviewed and followed.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, timelines, manpower, and resources.
- Identify project risks and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Prepare progress reports, forecasts, and project updates for management and stakeholders.
Site Execution and Supervision
- Supervise the installation of precast beams according to approved structural drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Manage site logistics, crane operations, lifting plans, rigging activities, and beam installation sequences.
- Coordinate manpower, subcontractors, materials, machinery, and equipment.
- Supervise site engineers, subcontractors, and workers to maintain safe and efficient operations.
- Conduct daily site inspections and monitor workmanship, safety, and quality compliance.
- Ensure site activities are completed promptly to prevent project delays or operational disruptions.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate closely with factory production teams, transport providers, design teams, and site installation crews.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and management regarding project progress and requirements.
- Resolve technical, logistical, and operational issues affecting project delivery.
- Escalate critical issues to management with appropriate recommendations.
Safety, Environmental and Regulatory Compliance
- Enforce lifting safety procedures and applicable occupational health and safety requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments for the handling, storage, transportation, lifting, and installation of precast components.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s safety, health, environmental, and quality policies.
- Stop work immediately when an unsafe condition or environmental risk is identified.
- Report accidents, non-compliance, spills, leaks, or environmental incidents without delay.
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in safety and environmental training and awareness programmes.
- Perform other duties assigned by the immediate superior, manager, or Head of Department.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- At least five years of experience in precast concrete projects, covering both production and site installation.
- Hands-on experience with cranes, lifting plans, rigging activities, and precast installation sequencing.
- Recognized safety management certification, such as CIDB or an equivalent qualification, is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of precast concrete production, transportation, handling, storage, and installation methods.
- Good understanding of lifting equipment, rigging safety, crane operations, and site logistics.
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Strong project-management, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Proficiency in project-management tools and reporting systems.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental compliance, and timely project delivery.
Key Authority
The Project cum Site Manager is authorized to:
- Make operational decisions within the approved project scope, budget, and timeline.
- Deploy manpower, subcontractors, materials, machinery, and equipment.
- Approve site activities and work methods within the designated authority.
- Enforce contractual, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate directly with clients, consultants, contractors, and management.
- Stop work when unsafe conditions or environmental risks are identified.
- Report incidents and non-compliance and initiate immediate corrective action.
