Technical Leadership & Support:

· Provide senior-level technical support for mechanical design and Design / Build projects, acting as a technical representative during client and user meetings.

· Lead mechanical engineering design activities for local and international projects in accordance with applicable standards, environmental codes, building codes and safety standards.

· Review technical calculations, specifications, design concepts and engineering deliverables to ensure accuracy, quality and compliance.

· Coordinate and communicate complex technical matters to senior management, Cost Managers, Procurement Managers, clients, consultants and other stakeholders.

Team Development:

· Guide and mentor Junior Engineers and support the Lead Engineer in planning internal technical training.

· Provide knowledge transfer on design methodology, cost modelling, technical standards and project delivery requirements.

· Conduct regular technical briefings, seminars and lessons-learned sessions across project stages.

Resource & Project Management:

· Support and coordinate each project phase from feasibility and design through construction, testing, commissioning and handover.

· Ensure effective use of engineering resources and promote cost-effective and reliable mechanical solutions.

· Support project and schedule management activities using MS Project or Primavera P6, where required.

Procurement & Value Engineering:

· Review risk analysis reports and confirm consistency between tender requirements and quotation specifications.

· Review supplementary specifications, drawings, Bills of Quantities (BoQ), material selections and quantities.

· Support value engineering, technical reviews and coordination with procurement and cost management teams.

· Support technical discussions with regulatory agencies regarding building code requirements and mechanical change orders, when required.

Design Administration:

· Review design concepts and ensure high standards of quality, technical compliance and coordination.

· Prepare and review tender presentation materials and technical documentation.

· Support design review meetings, design workshops, feasibility studies, audits and consultancy activities.

· Review existing facilities and assess mission-critical building requirements.

Concept & Schematic Design:

· Summarize design requirements and analyse existing facility conditions.

· Review schematic design reports, design development documents, technical specifications and calculation sheets.

· Propose feasible innovations and technical improvements while remaining informed of current market trends and product developments.

Detailed Design:

· Coordinate shop drawings with BIM and drafter teams.

· Support authority submission arrangements with Qualified Persons (QPs), where applicable.

· Review Testing & Commissioning requirements, test scripts and methodologies.

· Coordinate mechanical design with electrical, architectural, structural and other disciplines.

Energy Efficiency, CFD & PUE Management:

· Support energy simulations to achieve energy efficiency and sustainability objectives.

· Review and conduct internal and external Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations, where applicable.

· Perform and review WUE / PUE calculations from feasibility through the handover stage.

Construction Administration:

· Provide mechanical engineering support for new construction and Design & Build projects, working with clients, consultants, statutory authorities and contractors.

· Review construction materials, shop drawings and Method of Statement (MoS) submissions.

· Coordinate shop drawing reviews with subcontractors, vendors and other stakeholders.

· Conduct periodic inspections and internal quality checks.

· Ensure site installation works follow approved designs, project specifications, quality requirements and agreed timelines.

Testing & Commissioning Administration:

· Provide technical consultation and support for FAT, SAT and IST in coordination with Technical and Quality & Commissioning departments.

· Review and support end-user requirements, equipment tagging systems, test scripts and commissioning documentation.

BIM Management & Handover:

· Coordinate with the BIM and project teams on as-built BIM packages and handover submissions.

· Support cloud-based design collaboration, model coordination and QA/QC of own work.

· Review AutoCAD and Revit deliverables and support Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) work-sharing.

· Review and confirm that construction handover documentation complies with the project’s BIM Execution Plan (BEP).

International Exposure & Other Duties:

· Support international projects and business ventures by understanding country-specific standards, regulations and requirements.

· Travel to project sites as required by project needs.

· Perform any other duties assigned by the M&E Manager, Assistant Manager or Lead Mechanical Engineer.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

· Minimum 5 years of relevant mechanical engineering and design experience, preferably in data centre design and construction.

· Minimum 1 hyperscale data centre project experience is preferred to demonstrate technical depth and exposure to complex project requirements.

· Diploma / Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

· Strong organizational skills, sound judgement and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work professionally with internal and external stakeholders.

· Ability to guide team members, coordinate technical deliverables and support continuous improvement.

· Understanding of BIM models, local and international standards, regulations and project requirements.

· Relevant experience in large-scale complex commercial projects or hyperscale data centre projects is advantageous.

· Relevant certifications such as CDCP, Uptime ATD / ATP, TIA-942 CTDC or equivalent are advantageous.

Software Skills

· AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit – good working knowledge.

· MS Project / Primavera P6 – proficiency in project scheduling and management.

· Internal and external simulation tools such as Six Sigma Room or Ansys.

· Energy simulation and mechanical calculation software.

· Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) – knowledge of cloud work-sharing, design collaboration and model coordination.

Work Location: In person
