Job Description

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end manufacturing operations to ensure efficient production, high product quality, and safe working conditions. This role leads cross-functional teams including Production, Production Engineering, Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC), Safety & Health, and Maintenance to achieve operational excellence, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

1.      Production Management

• Plan, organize, and control daily production activities to meet output, quality, and delivery targets.
• Monitor production KPIs (OEE, productivity, scrap rate, downtime) and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, 5S).
• Coordinate with Supply Chain and Planning teams to align production schedules.

2.      Production Engineering

• Oversee process design, optimization, and standardization.
• Lead new product introduction (NPI), process validation, and line setup.
• Improve production efficiency through automation and engineering solutions.
• Ensure proper documentation of SOPs, work instructions, and technical standards.
• Support troubleshooting of technical and process-related issues.

3.      Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC)

• Ensure products meet internal and customer quality standards.
• Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Maintain and improve Quality Management System (ISO or equivalent).
• Reduce defects, rework, and customer complaints.

4.      Safety & Health

• Ensure compliance with local safety regulations and company policies.
• Promote a strong safety culture across all departments.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
• Implement preventive measures and continuous safety improvements.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices

5.      Maintenance Management

• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Ensure high equipment reliability and minimal downtime.
• Manage maintenance planning, spare parts control, and cost optimization.
• Lead troubleshooting of machine breakdowns.
• Support equipment upgrades and new machinery installation.

6.      Leadership & Management

• Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team.
• Set clear performance goals and conduct regular performance reviews.
• Foster teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Procurement, R&D and etc).

Skill & Other Special Requirements Required:

1.      Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related field)

2.      Minimum 8–10 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role.

3.      Strong knowledge of production processes, quality systems, and maintenance practices.

4.      Familiar with ERP systems.

5.      Effective communicator with strong problem-solving, analytical skill and decision-making skills.

6.      Good reading, listening and writing skills in Mandarin, English and Bahasa Malaysia.

7.      Independent self-starter, able to interact with all levels of personnel.

8.      Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint).

9.      Good team player.
