Job Summary

The Hotel Handyman is responsible for carrying out general maintenance, repair, and upkeep of hotel facilities to ensure a safe, comfortable, and pleasant environment for guests and employees. The role involves performing preventive maintenance and responding promptly to maintenance requests.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general repair and maintenance work including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and masonry.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities to identify maintenance issues.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel departments.
• Repair and maintain lighting fixtures, doors, locks, windows, furniture, and equipment.
• Assist in maintaining HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance according to established schedules.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
• Follow safety procedures and comply with hotel policies and regulations.
• Maintain maintenance records and report major repairs to the supervisor.
• Assist external contractors during servicing and repair activities.

Requirements

• Minimum SPM/High School Certificate or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in building, facility, or hotel maintenance is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repair work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks.
