Role Description

We are seeking a Technical & Process Manager to provide technical oversight of our graphene production process, lead process validation and scale-up, and ensure our production operations are grounded in sound science and engineering. This role bridges the technical/scientific understanding of graphene production with the hands-on leadership needed to keep the team executing on the floor.

The Technical & Process Manager will be responsible for translating validated processes into consistent, reliable, full-scale production output, working closely with the R&D, engineering, and management teams. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role, suited to a technically strong leader who is comfortable operating in a startup-to-growth environment and taking ownership of both the science and the shop floor. The role also sits on the Management Committee, contributing technical and production input to company-wide decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight of graphene production processes, ensuring scientific and engineering soundness at every stage
• Lead and oversee day-to-day graphene production operations, ensuring consistent output against throughput, quality, and yield targets
• Own process validation and scale-up — translating lab/pilot-stage processes into stable, repeatable, full-scale production
• Oversee, maintain, and troubleshoot production machinery and equipment — including uptime, calibration, and preventive maintenance
• Work closely with the R&D team on technology transfer, ensuring technical integrity is preserved as processes scale
• Establish and maintain production SOPs, safety protocols, and quality documentation
• Support regulatory and compliance readiness related to materials production
• Review and endorse production and technical reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Sit on the Management Committee, representing technical and production input in operational and strategic discussions
• Supervise, mentor, and develop team members, ensuring the team executes consistently and stays on track
• Manage production-related petty cash and operational spend, reporting to management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's (Master's or PhD preferred) in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field
• Strong technical understanding of graphene, advanced materials, or nanomaterials — able to critically evaluate process and product quality, not just manage operations
• 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in production, process engineering, or applied R&D, ideally with exposure to scale-up or pilot-to-production transitions
• Strong troubleshooting skills — comfortable diagnosing and resolving both technical/process issues and machinery issues on the floor
• Experience preparing technical and production reports and documentation
• Familiarity with safety and regulatory compliance in materials manufacturing is an advantage
• Comfortable operating in a startup-to-growth environment with high ownership, adaptability, and accountability
• Resourceful and hands-on — willing to wear multiple hats, work with limited resources, and adapt quickly to shifting priorities as the company scales
