Smart Reno is a Singapore-based interior design and renovation company providing end-to-end renovation solutions for residential and commercial spaces.

We work closely with homeowners, designers, contractors, suppliers and other industry partners to bring projects from initial concept and space planning through to renovation and final handover. Our projects give interns exposure to the practical side of the interior design industry, including design development, client communication, site coordination, project management and marketing.

We are a growing team that values initiative, creativity and hands-on learning. Interns are encouraged to contribute ideas, take ownership of their work and gain real-world experience beyond typical administrative internship duties.

Interior Design Intern

We are looking for a creative and motivated Interior Design Intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience across real residential and commercial renovation projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with space planning, design concepts and moodboard development
• Prepare and amend 2D drawings, layouts and design presentations
• Assist with 3D modelling and visualisation for client presentations
• Research and propose suitable materials, finishes, furniture and design solutions
• Support the preparation of quotations and project documentation
• Participate in client discussions and design meetings where required
• Attend site visits, take measurements and assist with site coordination
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders
• Assist designers in monitoring renovation progress and resolving design-related issues
• Support the team throughout different stages of a project, from initial concept to completion

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Spatial Design, Architecture or a related field
• Familiarity with software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp or other 3D design software is preferred
• Good sense of space, colour, materials and design aesthetics
• Willing to learn and comfortable working in both office and site environments
• Able to communicate and work well with different team members, clients and contractors
• Responsible, organised and able to manage multiple tasks
• Portfolio of school or personal design work is preferred

What You Will Gain

This is a hands-on internship where you will be exposed to actual renovation projects rather than purely administrative work. You will gain practical experience in design development, client interaction, site coordination, material selection and the overall renovation process.
