Responsibilities

Project Management

• Plan small project timelines and track deliverables to meet client and site milestones.
• Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to confirm lead times and materials.
• Maintain project folders, update budgets, and log changes for clear project history.
• Support site inspections and follow up on punch list items until handover is complete.

Design & Documentation

• Create concept sketches, mood boards, and material boards that communicate design intent.
• Produce accurate CAD drawings and as-built revisions for construction use.
• Develop 3D visuals and presentation drawings to help clients and contractors understand the design.
• Specify finishes, fixtures, and furniture with clear schedules and technical notes.

Site & Client Coordination

• Attend site meetings to clarify design intent and resolve on-site issues promptly.
• Communicate with clients in a clear, patient manner about timelines and decisions.
• Ensure workmanship matches the design intent through regular site checks and photo reports.
• Prepare simple tender packs and follow up on supplier quotations when needed.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent portfolio evidence.
• Fresh graduates and interns are welcome; show relevant studio projects or internship experience.
• A portfolio with concept work, technical drawings, or completed fit-outs is required.
• Willingness to work on site visits and learn construction processes is essential.

Hard Skills & Knowledge

• Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D documentation and basic construction drawings.
• Working knowledge of SketchUp or similar 3D modelling tools for visualisation.
• Familiarity with rendering tools and Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator for presentation work.
• Basic understanding of materials, finishes, joinery details, and construction terminology.

Soft Skills & Qualities

• Clear communication and client care skills to explain design choices and manage expectations.
• Good organisation and time management to handle multiple small tasks per project.
• Curiosity and a willingness to learn on site and from contractors.
• Attention to detail and a practical mindset to produce documentation that builders can use.
