Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems, including AHUs, FCUs, chilled water pumps, cooling towers, and VRV/VRF systems.
- Inspect, clean, replace and maintain air filters, HEPA filters and other HVAC components according to schedule and healthcare standards.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC issues, including refrigeration leaks, compressor failures, electrical control faults, fan motor issues and thermostat malfunctions.
- Monitor and operate the Building Management System (BMS) to track HVAC performance, temperature settings and system alarms.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to minimise disruption to hospital operations.
- Supervise external HVAC contractors and service vendors during maintenance works, major overhauls and project handovers.
- Maintain inventory of critical HVAC spare parts and recommend replenishment when required.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with MOH standards, JCI/MSQH accreditation requirements, OSH guidelines and hospital safety procedures.
- Carry out maintenance and facility-related works in critical hospital areas, including operating theatres, ICU, emergency department and wards.
- Complete work orders, PPM records, job sheets and maintenance reports accurately.
- Follow hospital hygiene, PPE and safety requirements, including appropriate hazard reporting procedures.
Job Requirements:
- Certificate, Diploma or Vocational Training in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- CIDB SKKP competency in Air-Conditioning & Mechanical Ventilation.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in building maintenance, preferably in HVAC.
- Experience in healthcare facilities is highly preferred.
- Good knowledge of chilled water systems, DX units, VRV/VRF systems and air distribution systems.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, plans and manuals.
- Familiarity with healthcare ventilation standards, room pressurisation and HEPA filtration systems.
- Hands-on experience using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, manifold gauges, leak detectors, anemometers and hygrometers.
- Physically fit and able to work at heights, climb ladders and work in plant rooms, ceiling plenums and outdoor areas.
- Willing to participate in on-call rotations, night shifts and weekend coverage as required for 24/7 hospital operations.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Pay: RM2,200.00 - RM2,700.00 per month
