Position Summary
The Assistant Finance Manager will support the Management in overseeing the company’s financial operations, reporting, budgeting, and compliance functions. The role requires strong analytical skills, hands-on accounting knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Monitor cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
- Support budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial closing.
- Assist with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.
SQL & Data Analysis
- Extract and analyze financial data using SQL queries.
- Generate management reports and dashboards from accounting/ERP databases.
- Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for cost optimization.
- Support automation of recurring financial reports.
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain proper internal controls and financial documentation.
- Support SST/GST, withholding tax, and statutory submissions where applicable.
Team & Operational Support
- Supervise and guide finance executives/accounts staff.
- Collaborate with operations, procurement, and HR departments on financial matters.
- Assist in system implementation and process improvement initiatives (SQL).
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
- 3–5 years of relevant finance/accounting experience.
- Experience in retail, F&B, hospitality, or multi-outlet operations is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in SQL (Structured Query Language) for data extraction and reporting.
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SQL Accounting, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, AutoCount, etc.).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query is a plus).

Preferred SQL Knowledge
Candidates should be familiar with:
- SELECT, JOIN, GROUP BY, WHERE, ORDER BY
- Data aggregation and financial report generation
- Query optimization for large datasets
- Basic understanding of database structures and ERP tables
Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
