Our client is a well-established player in Malaysia's school transport industry, operating both a traditional school bus service and a growing technology platform aimed at making school transport more reliable, visible, and safer. With over 40 years of on-the-ground operational experience serving leading international schools, the Group is expanding its footprint locally and internationally by combining deep industry expertise with an evolving tech ecosystem.
Our client is seeking a hands-on Accountant to take over the full finance and statutory administration function, working across both the traditional operating business and the technology arm. This is a rare opportunity for an accountant to own the finance function end-to-end, with genuine potential to grow into a leadership role as the company scales.
Job Type: Full-time / Permanent
Salary: RM 4,000 to RM 8,000 per month
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Location: Midvalley / Bangsar
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the full set of accounts, including AR/AP, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and monthly closing.
- Manage billing and collections for customers, as well as vendor account management.
- Run monthly payroll and handle statutory payments (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB).
- Prepare year-end financial statements and liaise directly with the external auditor and tax agent.
- Handle statutory and administrative matters specific to the transport business, including vehicle permits and registrations, road tax, insurance renewals, and business licences.
- Support cross-functional finance needs across both the traditional bus operation and the technology business.
- Support audit processes and drive continuous improvements to strengthen financial controls.
- Work independently to manage the full finance function, with the opportunity to build and lead a team as the company grows.
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of full-set accounting experience; able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Professional qualification (ACCA, MICPA, CPA), or progress toward one, is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Proficient with accounting software.
- Meticulous, organised, and discreet when handling confidential financial information.
- Good written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Prior exposure to the technology industry is an advantage but not required.
- Comfortable working in a lean, hands-on environment with room to grow into a larger, team-leading role over time.
