Primary Mathematics Teacher

Columbia International School (CIS), Kajang

Columbia International School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Mathematics Teacher to join our academic team. We are looking for an educator who can make Mathematics engaging, understandable and meaningful for young learners while building strong mathematical foundations.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons in accordance with the Cambridge Primary Curriculum and the School's academic expectations.
• Develop students' understanding of numeracy, mathematical concepts, problem-solving and logical thinking.
• Use a variety of teaching strategies, activities, manipulatives and digital resources to make Mathematics interactive and accessible.
• Prepare yearly plans, weekly lesson plans, teaching materials, worksheets and classroom activities.
• Differentiate lessons according to students' abilities and provide additional support or challenge where required.
• Prepare and conduct class assessments, quizzes, tests and examinations.
• Mark students' classwork, homework and assessments accurately and provide constructive feedback.
• Monitor and maintain records of students' academic progress.
• Identify learning gaps and provide appropriate intervention and reinforcement.
• Maintain effective classroom management and create a positive learning environment.
• Communicate professionally with parents regarding students' academic progress when required.
• Work closely with the Mathematics Head of Department and other teachers to ensure consistency in curriculum delivery and academic standards.
• Participate in department meetings, staff meetings, training programmes, school activities and events.
• Carry out other reasonable academic and school duties assigned by Management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mathematics, Education, Primary Education or a related field.
• Previous experience teaching Primary Mathematics is preferred.
• Experience with the Cambridge Primary Curriculum will be an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of primary-level Mathematics and numeracy concepts.
• Good classroom management skills.
• Able to explain mathematical concepts clearly and in an age-appropriate manner.
• Creative and confident in using different approaches to support students with varying abilities.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Responsible, organised, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Comfortable using technology and digital resources for teaching and learning.

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time

Pay: RM2,800.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
