JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct literature reviews on topics related to suicide prevention, mental health, and crisis intervention
  • Collect and clean quantitative and qualitative data on a project on youth and caregiver experiences of suicidality
  • Participate in team meetings and discussions
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports, presentations, and summaries of research findings and other activities/initiatives undertaken by the department
  • Assist in drafting internal documents, including meeting notes, SOPs, organisational learning, insights, research proposals, applications, recommendations, etc.
  • Organise and maintain project documentation and departmental resources
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholder communications
  • Support ad hoc projects and operational needs within the Strategy & Research department

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications and Expectations:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in psychology, public health, social work, sociology, or a related field. Candidates with a strong academic background in quantitative or qualitative research methods are preferred.
  • Preferably has completed a CITI Certificate for the course NCSS Ethics Review Committee Applicants – SBE Research or an equivalent certification.
  • Passionate about mental health advocacy and suicide prevention.
  • Strong research skills, including experience with literature reviews, data collection, and statistical analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Sensitivity to issues related to mental health, suicide, and trauma, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in research.
