THE ROLE

As a Risk Analyst / Risk Engineer, you will be responsible for assessing potential risks, analysing technical and operational information, conducting risk reviews and recommending appropriate risk mitigation measures.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders, clients, technical teams and management to ensure risks are properly identified, evaluated and controlled.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct risk assessments, risk surveys and technical reviews of facilities, operations, projects and processes.

• Identify potential hazards, loss exposures, operational weaknesses and areas of risk.

• Analyse technical, operational and financial information to determine the likelihood and potential impact of identified risks.

• Conduct site inspections and gather relevant information through physical surveys, interviews, documentation reviews and other appropriate methods.

• Prepare clear and comprehensive risk assessment and technical reports, including findings, risk ratings and recommendations.

• Develop practical Risk Improvement Recommendations (RIR) and loss-prevention measures.

• Evaluate existing risk controls, safety systems, fire protection measures, equipment and operational procedures.

• Provide technical risk information and recommendations to management, business teams, underwriters, clients or other relevant stakeholders.

• Monitor identified risks and follow up on recommended corrective and preventive actions.

• Research industry standards, regulations, engineering practices and emerging risks to maintain current technical knowledge.

• Support the development and improvement of risk management processes, tools, databases and reporting systems.

• Prepare risk dashboards, analysis and management reports where required.

• Work collaboratively with engineering, operations, finance, compliance, underwriting and other relevant teams.

• Participate in special projects and other risk-management initiatives as required.
