About the role

Wangsa Holdings Sdn Bhd is seeking a Senior Baker to join our baking operations in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to lead our baking team and oversee the production of high-quality baked goods. As Senior Baker, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our standards of excellence, innovating our product range, and ensuring consistent quality across all our baking operations. This position is based on-site in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur, where you will work in our professional baking facility.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily baking operations, including planning production schedules and coordinating with team members

• Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes and other baked products according to established recipes and quality standards

• Train, supervise and mentor junior bakers and baking staff to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to food safety standards

• Develop and test new recipes and baking techniques to expand our product offerings and maintain competitive advantage

• Monitor ingredient quality and manage inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimising waste

• Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards in compliance with local regulations and company policies

• Ensure all baked products meet our quality standards before delivery to customers

• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to maintain operational efficiency

• Collaborate with management to meet production targets and business objectives

What we're looking for

• A minimum of 5-7 years of professional baking experience, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or senior role

• Comprehensive knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and food science principles

• Proficiency in preparing a wide range of baked goods including bread, pastries, cakes and specialty items

• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to train and motivate a team

• Excellent organisational and time management abilities to handle multiple production runs

• A thorough understanding of food hygiene, food safety regulations and quality control practices

• Physical fitness and stamina to work in a fast-paced baking environment, including early morning shifts

• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail in product consistency and presentation

• A passion for baking and commitment to continuous improvement and innovation

• Experience with baking equipment operation and maintenance is advantageous

Mon - Fri (6:30 AM - 3:30 PM)
Sat - OFF DAY
Sun - (6:30 AM - 3:30 PM)
