About the role
This is a newly created position. You will build and own the supply chain function as we expand from distributor-led coverage into direct HORECA and retail accounts, add new sourcing origins, and operate warehouse.
Key responsibilities
Own inventory strategy, demand planning and future capacity planning; work with Sales, Marketing and the Japan and regional teams to translate market plans into demand forecasts and monthly purchase plans.
Develop and qualify local suppliers, and manage import sourcing on price, MOQ, lead time and landed cost.
Manage import and export operations end to end: forwarders, customs clearance, HS codes, duty and tax, import permits, CO, health certificates and COA.
Maintain seafood import licenses and certification readiness (HACCP, JAKIM halal, ISO) required by chain and retail accounts.
Plan, appoint and evaluate 3PL cold chain providers on service quality, cost efficiency and contractual compliance.
Oversee warehouse operations and compliance — inventory accuracy, cycle counting, FEFO discipline and value-added services.
Plan and manage B2B delivery to distributors, direct HORECA and retail accounts, and lead the transition to our own warehouse.
Develop and enforce operational policies, internal controls, KPIs and reporting; drive on-time delivery, shipping accuracy, inventory accuracy and cost efficiency.
Lead customer service operations: order management, delivery coordination, service enquiries, complaint handling, returns and credit coordination.
Report monthly to the General Manager and Japan head office on stock position, purchase commitment, landed cost, delivery performance and expiry exposure.
About you
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Trade or a related field.
Minimum 5 to 6 years in supply chain, logistics or customer service operations, with at least 3 years in a management role.
Frozen or chilled food, FMCG or cold chain experience strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of Malaysian food and seafood import procedures: customs clearance, import permits, MAQIS / Department of Fisheries, halal and health certification.
Proven experience managing 3PL providers and forwarders, including rate negotiation and service review.
Proficient in ERP or inventory systems — SQL Accounting, AutoCount or similar — strong Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis) and AI.
Strategic thinking, analytical and data-driven decision making, negotiation and vendor management, and a customer-centric mindset.
Fluent in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin.
Able to work to written duties and deadlines, escalate early, and take work through to completion.
