About the Job

Our client is an established logistics group with a growing business presence. They are looking for an experienced Customs Operations Assistant Manager to oversee and manage ocean freight and customs clearance operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, regulatory compliance, and high service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee end-to-end customs clearance and ocean freight operations, covering import, export, transshipment, and transportation.
• Ensure all operations comply with Royal Malaysian Customs and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with Customs, MITI, SIRIM, MAQIS, MOH, Port Authorities, and other relevant government agencies.
• Manage customs-related licences, permits, documentation, SOPs, and operational KPIs.
• Coordinate with local partners, agents, and third-party service providers to ensure smooth operations.
• Prepare and propose annual operational budgets and monitor related expenses.
• Lead, coach, and supervise the operations team to achieve service and operational targets.
• Provide guidance to clients and internal teams on customs procedures, documentation, permits, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify operational issues and implement solutions to improve efficiency and service quality.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in customs brokerage, ocean freight, or logistics operations.
• At least 1–2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Good knowledge of Port System, DagangNet, customs documentation, permits, HS Code classification, and customs procedures.
• Experience dealing with government agencies, customs authorities, and port authorities.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple operational priorities effectively.
