Role Description This Computer Science Specialist internship at Vaia is a hybrid role based in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with flexibility for partial work from home. The intern will support the design, development, and testing of software components for AI-driven tools, cybersecurity solutions, and business systems. Daily tasks include writing and reviewing code, assisting with system integration, troubleshooting technical issues, and documenting features and technical processes. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, contributing to technical research and prototypes, and participating in code reviews and sprint meetings. This internship is structured to provide hands-on experience in modern software development while contributing to real client and product initiatives.

Qualifications

Strong foundation in Computer Science and Informatics, with understanding of algorithms, data structures, and system design.

Practical skills in Programming and Software Development, including experience with at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, or similar).

Effective Communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Familiarity with software development lifecycle, version control (e.g., Git), and basic debugging and testing practices.

Interest in AI, cybersecurity, or business systems, and willingness to learn new tools, frameworks, and methodologies.

Ability to work in a hybrid environment, manage time effectively, and take initiative under general guidance.

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Kuala Lumpur (Kuala Lumpur)
