To supervise and coordinate electrical installation works for data center construction projects, ensuring all works are executed safely, correctly, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, project schedules, and applicable standards. The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day site execution, manpower and subcontractor coordination, quality control, progress monitoring, and coordination with other construction disciplines.
1. Electrical Installation Supervision
- Supervise daily electrical construction activities on site.
- Ensure electrical installation works are carried out according to approved IFC/shop drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
- Supervise installation of:
o MV/LV switchgear
o Transformers
o Generators
o UPS systems
o ATS/STS
o MDB/SMDB/DB
o Busduct/busway systems
o Cable trays and containment
o Power and control cables
o Lighting and small power
o Earthing and lightning protection
o PDU/RPP systems
o Electrical equipment and associated systems
- Check installation levels, alignment, routing, supports, clearances, termination, labeling, and workmanship.
- Ensure installations are completed according to approved drawings and manufacturer requirements.
2. Manpower & Subcontractor Supervision
- Supervise electrical subcontractors and specialist vendors.
- Monitor manpower productivity and work progress.
- Conduct daily toolbox meetings and coordinate work fronts.
- Ensure sufficient manpower, tools, materials, and equipment are available.
- Verify subcontractor work before requesting inspection.
3. Drawing & Technical Coordination
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, SLDs, layouts, schematics, details, and schedules.
- Identify discrepancies between drawings and site conditions.
- Coordinate electrical works with other contractors/trades.
- Ensure construction follows the latest approved drawing revision.
4. QA/QC & Inspection
- Ensure installation works meet project quality requirements.
- Carry out pre-inspection of completed works before submitting to QA/QC.
- Coordinate with QA/QC inspectors for:
o Installation inspections
o Material inspections
o Cable inspections
o Equipment installation
o Containment inspections
o Earthing inspections
o Testing activities
- Rectify defects and close inspection comments promptly.
- Ensure proper installation records and inspection documentation are maintained.
5. Testing & pre-commissioning
- Coordinate electrical testing and pre-commissioning activities.
- Coordinate with testing and commissioning teams, specialist vendors, consultants, and the client.
- Ensure equipment and systems are ready for commissioning according to the project schedule.
6. Progress & Schedule
- Monitor daily and weekly electrical installation progress.
- Ensure activities are completed according to the approved construction schedule.
- Report delays, material shortages, drawing issues, manpower constraints, and access problems to the Electrical Superintendent/Manager.
- Coordinate work sequencing to achieve project milestones.
- Assist in preparing daily progress reports and productivity reports.
7. Material Management
- Verify that materials delivered to site are correct and approved.
- Coordinate material requirements with the site/store team.
- Monitor material usage.
- Ensure electrical materials are properly stored and protected.
- Report shortages or damaged materials immediately.
8. Safety
- Ensure all electrical construction activities are performed safely.
- Conduct daily toolbox meetings and pre-task briefings.
- Ensure compliance with Permit-to-Work (PTW), LOTO, risk assessments, method statements, and site HSE requirements.
- Identify unsafe conditions and stop work where necessary.
- Ensure workers use appropriate PPE and approved tools/equipment.
- Report incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM6,500.00 per month
