Has basic understanding of news, including local, crime, sports, entertainment and international news.
Knows how to use Canva to create social media content such as Instagram posts and simple videos.
Able to upload strong volume of articles daily, including stories from staff reporters and news agencies.
Can write reports / articles on breaking news, trending topics, entertainment an other general affairs.
Has basic understanding of Malaysian politics and current affairs, including key national leaders and the local entertainment industry.
Has basic understanding of using a Content Management System (CMS).
Ensures articles are published with little to no errors, including proper spelling, accurate facts, effective links and correct photo captions.
Communicates effectively with reporters, sub-editors and the social media team to ensure news updates are consistent across the website and social media platforms.
Willing to work on a rotating shift schedule, including 7am, 9am, 11am and 2pm shifts, as required by the newsroom’s operational needs.
Requirements:
Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication or related field.
Executive: 1 years of experience in Journalism or related field. Senior: 3 years of experience in in Journalism or related field.
