Project Implementation and Solution Design:
• Assist in or lead the technical discovery, requirement-gathering sessions, and customer workshops by preparing checklists, capturing technical information, and documenting action items.
• Support Pre-Implementation Validation (PIV), solution preparation, deployment planning, test execution, and acceptance activities for OpenShift and Ansible Automation Platform projects.
• Assist with or lead the installation, configuration, and validation of OpenShift clusters, including nodes, namespaces/projects, operators, user access, basic networking, storage, and monitoring components.
• Assist with or lead the Ansible Automation Platform setup and configuration, including inventories, projects, credentials, execution environments, job templates, schedules, workflows, and role-based
access controls.
• Prepare and maintain implementation runbooks, deployment checklists, validation records, test evidence, and handover documentation under the review of senior Technical Engineer or Technical consultant.
• Support post-implementation tasks, including operational handover, customer orientation, technical documentation updates, and resolution of outstanding action items.
Technical Support and Incident Management:
• Provide first-line and intermediate technical support for OpenShift and Ansible Automation Platform environments, escalating complex or highimpact issues to Senior Technical Engineer in a timely manner.
• Perform routine platform health checks, log reviews, service verification, certificate checks, capacity checks, and basic performance monitoring according to approved procedures.
• Assist with or lead the troubleshooting common issues involving workloads, pods, deployments, namespaces, operators, networking, DNS, ingress, storage, authentication, and Ansible job execution.
• Support approved maintenance activities such as patching, version upgrades, backup validation, configuration changes, and security remediation under supervision.
• Record support activities, incident updates, troubleshooting findings, and resolution steps accurately in the designated service-management system to support SLA compliance.
• Coordinate with internal teams, customer technical contacts, and technology vendors when required to collect diagnostic information and progress issue resolution.
Platform Engineering, Automation and Integration:
• Develop, test, maintain, and support basic Ansible playbooks, roles, inventories, variables, templates, and workflows using clear, reusable, and version-controlled practices.
• Assist in or lead the configuring and maintaining Ansible Automation Platform components such as automation controller, private automation hub, execution environments, projects, credentials, job templates, and notifications.
• Support automation integration with enterprise platforms and services such as Linux servers, VMware, Git repositories, ITSM systems, APIs, databases, monitoring tools, and identity services.
• Assist application teams with container onboarding activities, including image build practices, image registries, namespaces, RBAC, resource requests and limits, persistent storage, and day-2 operational requirements.
• Use Git, YAML, Jinja2, Bash, Python, Ansible, and related tools to support infrastructure-as-code, automation, testing, documentation, and controlled change implementation.
• Follow established security and operational standards for access control, secrets handling, certificate management, auditability, backup validation, and configuration management.
Customer Engagement and Knowledge Sharing:
• Assist senior Technical Engineer or Technical consultant or lead technical workshops, demonstrations, solution walkthroughs, training sessions, and customer knowledge-transfer activities.
• Communicate technical progress, issues, and next steps clearly and professionally to internal teams and customer stakeholders, with guidance where required.
• Create and update technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, standard operating procedures, build records, and knowledge-based articles.
• Participate actively in technical training, hands-on labs, peer reviews, and internal knowledge-sharing sessions to strengthen OpenShift, Ansible, Linux, and automation skills.
• Stay informed about relevant Red Hat product updates, Kubernetes and automation practices, and recommend practical improvements through the appropriate technical review process.
• Contribute reusable scripts, templates, troubleshooting notes, and lessons learned to the team knowledge base.
Qualifications: Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or
an equivalent related field.
Relevant Industry Experience: Preferably 1-3 years of related working experience in an IT environment, or technical consulting. Candidates with 1 or more years of customer facing OpenShift, Kubernetes, or automation delivery experience are preferred.
Technical Expertise:
• Basic hands-on knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes concepts, including cluster components, nodes, namespaces/projects, pods, deployments, services, routes/ingress, operators, and application troubleshooting.
• Understanding of container technologies and runtime concepts, including Docker or Podman, container images, image registries, image security, and basic container build practices.
• Hands-on exposure to Ansible and Ansible Automation Platform, including playbooks, roles, variables, inventories, credentials, projects, job templates, schedules, workflows, and execution environments.
• Good foundation in Red Hat Enterprise Linux or compatible Linux distributions, including command-line administration, package management, system services, user access, filesystems, permissions, log analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Basic networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, NTP, VLANs, load balancing, ingress, routing, proxy configuration, firewalls, certificates/TLS, and network diagnostic tools.
• Awareness of OpenShift infrastructure integrations such as storage, virtualisation, identity services, monitoring, logging, and enterprise backup solutions.
• Exposure to monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, Loki, Elasticsearch, OpenTelemetry, or equivalent tools is an advantage.
• Familiarity with source control and DevOps tools such as GitLab, Bitbucket, GitHub, Jenkins, Argo CD, Tekton, Terraform, or equivalent tools is an advantage.
• Basic scripting ability using Bash, Python, or PowerShell, with the willingness to improve automation and troubleshooting capability.
• Awareness of cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or Red Hat OpenShift cloud services is an advantage.
Preferred Experience:
• Exposure to supporting OpenShift, Kubernetes, Linux, or Ansible-based environments in enterprise, regulated, or multi-team customer environments.
• Experience with virtualization, storage, databases, middleware, web servers, APIs, or system-management tools is an advantage.
• Participation in customer-facing technical workshops, implementation projects, support operations, or technology-related training programmes is an advantage.
• Interest in DevOps, GitOps, observability, cloud-native application platforms, security, high availability, and disaster recovery practices.
Certifications:
Preferably with one or more certifications below:
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
• Red Hat Certified System Engineer (RHCE)
• Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift or OpenShift-related certification
• Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation Platform or automation-related certification
• Relevant Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, or DevOps certifications
