Solar Design Engineer (Fresh Graduates Encouraged)

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated, tech-savvy Solar Design Engineer to join our growing renewable energy team. This role focuses on engineering layout creation, system simulation, and technical documentation for residential homes and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) rooftop solar PV projects. You will be responsible for calculating energy yields, drafting electrical schematics, selecting hardware like panels and inverters, and ensuring local grid compliance. You will receive hands-on mentorship to transition your academic engineering knowledge into real-world solar design expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Layout & Drafting: Create accurate system layouts and single-line diagrams (SLD) using CAD tools.
• Technical Sizing: Run engineering sizing calculations, near-shading shadow analysis, and precise voltage drop estimates.
• Feasibility Studies: Conduct on-site physical surveys to assess structural roof integrity and electrical interconnectivity.
• Regulatory Compliance: Prepare and compile necessary documentation for local utility (TNB) and regulatory approvals (ATAP/SELCO).
• Project Handover: Support site project teams during the crucial testing and commissioning phases.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related technical track.
• Software Baseline: Foundational academic or professional proficiency in design software like AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Microsoft Office.
• Regulatory Awareness: Foundational knowledge of local grid connection rules and safety codes (such as SEDA and Suruhanjaya Tenaga guidelines in Malaysia).
• Engineering Fundamentals: Strong analytical background in electrical power systems and component sizing.
• Experience: Fresh graduates are highly encouraged to apply.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Pay: From RM2,200.00 per month
