Responsibilities

Company Description Malaysian Sheet Glass Sdn Bhd, part of the NSG Group, was established in 1971 as NSG’s first direct market entry into Asia. Over time, NSG increased its initial 44% stake to full ownership, and the company now operates two float furnaces. As one of the major glass plants in Southeast Asia, Malaysian Sheet Glass plays a key role in supporting industrial growth across ASEAN countries. The role

  • Design, develop, and implement electrical and software solutions for manufacturing processes and operational systems
  • Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems
  • Develop and maintain software applications and programmes that support operational efficiency and automation
  • Conduct technical assessments and feasibility studies for new electrical and software projects
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical and software issues, providing timely resolutions to minimise downtime
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system designs, specifications, and operational manuals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, maintenance, and operations to ensure seamless integration of systems
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering professional development and technical excellence
  • Ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices
  • Manage electrical and software project budgets and timelines
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and reduce operational costs.


What are we looking for?

·      Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline

·      Minimum 8–10 years of professional experience in electrical engineering and/or software development within a manufacturing or industrial environment

·      Advanced proficiency in electrical system design, PLC programming, and industrial automation

·      Strong software development skills with experience in languages such as C, C++, Python, or Java

·      Demonstrated experience with SCADA systems, HMI applications, or similar industrial control software

·      Comprehensive knowledge of electrical standards and safety regulations applicable to manufacturing

·      Proven project management experience, including the ability to lead teams and manage complex technical projects

·      Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail

·      Excellent communication and presentation abilities in both written and verbal forms

·      Professional certifications such as Certified Electrical Safety Compliance (CESCO), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent are highly desirable

·      Experience with CAD software, simulation tools, and technical design software is preferred
