JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees the planning and execution of all electrical and general mechanical works carried out by the associates.
- Assist the Director Maintenance Service in the development, planning and implementation of a preventive maintenance programme.
- Controls over all personnel in the department, manages work crews on their day to day operation.
- Ensures regular maintenance of the hotel building system and equipment carried out and recorded.
- To submit maintenance month end report to Director Maintenance Service.
- Sets up and monitors the duty rosters, handle technical drawings, duty log, records and store inventory.
- Prepares proper procedure manuals for planned maintenance system and work schedules fore all areas under the jurisdiction of the Engineering Department.
- Ensures all work carried out by associates are carried out in accordance to the specification by technically or by statutory.
- Coordinates and ensures all work is carried out efficiently minimise any inconveniences to guest or hotel operations and to take corrective action when necessary.
- Ensures adequate supply of spare parts for maintenance repairs in the store and ensures that these items are stored and recorded accordingly.
- Checks all maintenance tools are in good working condition and are kept accordingly in the work area.
- Ensures that all procedures of removing tools/spare parts from the store are complied with in accordance to the policies set by the Chief Engineer.
- Keeps the Chief Engineer informed of any problems and outcome of the work carried out within the building.
- Assists the Chief Engineer in planning and organising on the job training to upgrade the knowledge and skills of all engineering associate.
- To be fully familiar with the location and operation of all fire-fighting equipment and operations of fire-fighting equipment and operations of fire-fighting equipment and system.
- Plans the departmental duty roster for the approval of the Chief Engineer prior to implementation.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Possess a valid Chargeman Certificate issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (A4).
- Minimum 2 years working experience in building facilities, hotel, or industrial maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, protective devices, control circuits, and building systems.
- Able to read electrical drawings and interpret technical documentation.
- Knowledge of hotel operations is an added advantage.
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
- Physically fit and able to work in shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
