Business Development Associate (Freelance/Contract) — PD's Lair
Performance-based, Client Acquisition

About the Role
PD's Lair is a creative agency working on content strategy, social media, and brand storytelling for growing brands. We're onboarding a freelance Business Development Associate to help us acquire new clients. This is an independent, contract-based engagement, not a salaried position, compensated per client secured, with the opportunity to transition into a retained monthly contract based on performance.

Engagement Type
This is a freelance/contractor arrangement, not employment. You'll work independently, set your own hours, and may take on other freelance or professional work alongside this engagement. Payment is made per successful client conversion via invoice, there is no fixed monthly retainer during the initial performance period.

Scope of Work

• Identify and research potential clients across categories (D2C, hospitality, wellness, fashion, and more)
• Run outreach via cold calls, email, and LinkedIn to generate leads
• Pitch PD's Lair's services and convert prospects into paying clients
• Follow up and move leads through the pipeline until closed
• Maintain a simple tracker of leads and conversion status
• Ensure a smooth handoff to the core team post-closure

Compensation Structure

Initial Performance Period (first 3 months):

• Paid per client secured, no fixed monthly fee.
• You earn 25% of the monthly value of each client you close for the month.
• Payout for a given client is contingent on that client remaining engaged with PD's Lair for a minimum of 3 months.

Transition to Retained Contract:

• Consistently securing at least one qualifying client per month for 3 consecutive months (each retained 3+ months) makes you eligible for a retained monthly contract of ₹10,000–₹12,000, in addition to ongoing per-client incentives.

Who This Is For

• Someone with sales, business development, or outreach experience (0-1 years is fine)
• Strong communicator, comfortable with cold outreach and rejection
• Self-driven, able to work independently without daily oversight
• Basic familiarity with social media/content marketing is a plus, not required

Location / Work Mode
Remote/flexible — outreach and client conversations can be conducted independently.

Pay: $1,818.15 - $6,410.51 per month
