Oversee the full spectrum of finance and accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing.
Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, and management reports to support strategic decision-making.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and cash flow management.
Ensure compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), the Companies Act, tax regulations, SST, and other statutory requirements.
Establish, review, and strengthen internal controls, financial governance, and risk management frameworks.
Monitor financial performance through variance analysis and provide recommendations to improve profitability, cost control, and operational efficiency.
Manage treasury functions, including cash flow, banking facilities, and working capital.
Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, inventory, and general ledger functions.
Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, company secretaries, and relevant government authorities.
Ensure timely submission of SST, corporate tax, withholding tax, and all statutory filings.
Develop and implement finance policies, SOPs, and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team while fostering a high-performance culture.
Partner with Management to provide financial insights, business analysis, and strategic recommendations to support business growth.
Perform any other finance-related duties assigned by Management.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Professional qualification such as MIA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICAEW, or equivalent.
Minimum 5–8 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, including at least 2–3 years in a managerial, Finance Controller, or similar leadership role.
Strong knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), taxation, SST, the Companies Act, and statutory compliance.
Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, cash flow management, audit coordination, and financial controls.
Experience in designing and implementing internal controls, governance, and risk management processes.
Strong analytical, leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and accounting software.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in manufacturing, trading, retail, or FMCG environment (where applicable).
Experience with ERP implementation or system enhancement projects is an added advantage.
Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) or financial reporting tools is an added advantage.
Ability to communicate in Mandarin (spoken and written) is an added advantage to facilitate communication with Mandarin-speaking clients, business partners, and stakeholders.
