Key Responsibilities
Departmental Coordination: Oversee the daily synergy between Housekeeping, Front Office, and Maintenance to ensure rooms are turned over quickly and guest requests are met without delay.
Strict SOP Enforcement: Act as the "Guardian of Standards." You will ensure every staff member strictly follows the Company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cleaning, guest handling, and safety.
Quality Control (QC) Inspections: Conduct rigorous daily inspections of guest rooms and public areas. You are responsible for ensuring "zero defects" in room presentation before a guest checks in.
Maintenance Oversight: Work closely with the Maintenance Technician to manage the property’s preventive maintenance schedule (Air-cond servicing, plumbing, and electrical) to prevent breakdowns.
Manpower & Roistering: Manage staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage during peak periods (weekends/holidays) while minimizing unnecessary overtime costs.
Inventory & Cost Control: Monitor the usage of linens, cleaning chemicals, and guest amenities. You must implement measures to reduce wastage and manage the property’s utility consumption (electricity/water).
Safety & Compliance: Ensure the property remains 100% compliant with local regulations, including Fire Safety (BOMBA), Health & Safety standards, and licensing requirements.
Requirements
Experience: Minimum 2–5 years in hotel operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or assistant manager role.
Style: A "Hands-on" leader. You are someone who prefers being on the floor with the team rather than sitting in an office.
Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle high-pressure situations (e.g., full house, technical emergencies).
Technical: Familiarity with Hotel PMS (familiarity with IDB will be a plus) and basic knowledge of building maintenance (M&E) .
Communication: Fluent in English/Bahasa Malaysia/Mandarin to effectively lead a diverse team and communicate with guests.
