ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Tactical Direction
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical direction to all department employees, including engineers, supervisors, technicians, and operators.
- Establish department goals and KPIs aligned with corporate strategic objectives, driving a culture of high performance and technical excellence.
- Manage the recruitment, comprehensive technical training, and professional development of both new and existing team members.
- Manage the team's daily activities and assigned tasks while effectively handling shift-level issue resolution.
Production Optimization & Efficiency
- Strategically plan and allocate manpower and plant equipment to optimize daily production schedules and maximize plant throughput.
- Utilize Lean tools (e.g., Value Stream Mapping and PIP) and data analytics to identify bottlenecks and process inefficiencies.
- Drive initiatives to reduce production waste and material rejects while optimizing conversion costs.
- Analyze process variability, downtime trends, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) data to develop and implement continuous improvement strategies.
Reliability & Maintenance Strategy
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve a site-wide Maintenance Integrity (MI) program to ensure the reliability of all mechanical, electrical, utility, and civil assets.
- Ensure the effective execution of preventive maintenance (PM) activities as planned to maximize asset reliability, extend equipment lifespan, and minimize unplanned downtime.
- Liaise with equipment OEMs (e.g., KRONES, SIPA, and SMI) and suppliers to coordinate critical breakdown support, spare parts management, and maintenance planning.
- Ensure all technical documentation is maintained in accordance with company and regulatory standards, including inspection, service, and commissioning records.
CAPEX & Continuous Improvement (Kaizen)
- Develop, justify, and manage the strategic maintenance CAPEX and OPEX plans to support operational and business objectives.
- Identify, quantify, and lead multiple Kaizen initiatives to resolve recurring process issues and reduce syrup, water, and preform waste.
- Lead the engineering and technical teams in new product launches (SKU implementation), capacity expansion projects, and sustainability initiatives focused on energy, water, and carbon reduction.
- Prepare detailed tender documents for contractors and provide project management oversight throughout project implementation, start-up, and commissioning.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience in engineering, maintenance, or manufacturing.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting, HMI and SCADA development, industrial network communications, and process control and automation will be an added advantage.
- Willingness and ability to work on shift schedules when required.
- Fast learner with a proactive, adaptable, and results-oriented mindset.
