Job Description

Responsibilities

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Hybrid)
Employment Type: External Contract
Salary: Up to RM11,000 per month (Basic)

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for web and/or mobile applications.
  • Perform functional, regression, system, integration, end-to-end (E2E), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Execute API testing and validate backend services using tools such as Postman or similar.
  • Design and review test cases, test plans, and test scenarios based on business and technical requirements.
  • Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using defect management tools such as Jira.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure software quality throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Support Agile/Scrum delivery by participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and release activities.
  • Perform SQL/database validation and ensure data integrity where required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and test automation practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Software Testing.
  • Strong hands-on experience in automation testing.
  • Experience with one or more automation tools/frameworks such as:
  • Selenium
  • Playwright
  • Cypress
  • Appium
  • WebDriverIO
  • Experience in API testing using Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of SQL and database validation.
  • Experience using Jira, HP ALM, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or similar test management tools.
  • Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodology and the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Experience in banking, financial services, insurance, automotive, or enterprise applications will be an advantage.
