Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Banking Manual Tester to ensure the quality, functionality, and reliability of banking applications. The successful candidate will perform manual testing across various banking systems, validate business requirements, execute test cases, identify defects, and work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, and Project Managers to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

* Analyse Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Specification Documents (FSD), and User Stories.

* Design, prepare, and execute manual test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts.

* Perform Functional Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), Regression Testing, Smoke Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support.

* Validate banking applications against business and functional requirements.

* Log, track, and retest defects using defect management tools.

* Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to resolve issues.

* Participate in requirement walkthroughs and test planning sessions.

* Prepare test execution reports and defect summaries.

* Ensure applications comply with banking standards and regulatory requirements.

* Support production verification and post-release testing.

* Assist in root cause analysis for production defects.

* Maintain testing documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills

* Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).

* Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

* Experience in Functional, Integration, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, and UAT testing.

* Ability to create test plans, test cases, and test reports.

* Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

* Ability to work in Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall environments.

Banking Domain Knowledge

Experience in one or more of the following is preferred:

* Internet Banking

* Loans & Financing

* Deposits

* Trade Finance

* Treasury

* AML (Anti-Money Laundering)

Preferred Technical Skills

* SQL for database validation

* Oracle SQL / Microsoft SQL Server

* API testing (Postman or SoapUI)

* JSON and XML validation

* Unix/Linux basic commands

* Jira

* HP ALM / Quality Center

* Azure DevOps

* Confluence

* TestRail

* ServiceNow (preferred)

Nice to Have

* Basic automation knowledge (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright)

* Experience with CI/CD pipelines

* Banking project implementation experience

* Knowledge of ISO 20022, SWIFT, or payment systems

Qualifications

* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.

* 2–5+ years of manual testing experience.

* Prior experience in banking or financial services is highly preferred.

Preferred Certifications

* ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL)

* Certified Agile Tester (optional)
