A Biomedical Officer is typically expected to possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- A relevant Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science, Biomedical Technology, or a related field.
- Technical proficiency in operating and troubleshooting diagnostic and biomedical equipment.
- Strong laboratory and analytical skills.
- Knowledge and experience in medical device maintenance and preventive servicing.
- Understanding of safety standards, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance practices for medical devices.
- Ability to provide end-user training and technical support to clinical and healthcare staff.
- Proficiency in handling and interpreting statistical data for reporting and performance analysis.
- Familiarity with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software is an added advantage, particularly for equipment design, modification, or technical documentation.
- Good problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
