About the Opportunity

Our client, a growing manufacturing organisation, is looking for a proactive and hands-on HR professional to build and lead its HR function from the ground up. As the first dedicated HR hire, you will work closely with senior management to shape people strategy, strengthen HR practices, and put scalable processes in place to support the company's next phase of growth.

This is a rare opportunity for an HR generalist or HRBP who enjoys both strategic influence and operational ownership, and who wants to leave a lasting mark on how a business is built.

What You'll Be Doing

• Partnering with leadership to advise on people-related matters and shape HR strategies aligned with business goals
• Driving initiatives that improve organisational effectiveness, workforce planning, and employee engagement
• Reviewing and developing HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook, ensuring alignment with Malaysian labour law
• Guiding managers on employee relations, disciplinary processes, and performance management
• Managing end-to-end HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, records management, and offboarding
• Building and improving HR systems, documentation, and reporting, including support for payroll administration
• Identifying training and development needs, and supporting talent acquisition and succession planning
• Championing a positive, people-first workplace culture

What We're Looking For

• 5–8 years of experience as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner
• A track record of advising management and driving HR initiatives independently
• Solid understanding of Malaysian labour laws and current HR best practices
• Experience building or improving HR policies and processes from the ground up
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and interpersonal skills
• A proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented approach to work
• Comfort working independently in a role with high ownership and autonomy
