Cat + Air is an independent art practice where painting and ceramics come together through slow, intentional craftsmanship. Founded by Denise Choo, whose journey from humanitarian work to full-time artist reflects a Dare to be Different mindset. Cat + Air is part of Connor's Collective,

Job Description

• Get a behind-the-scenes look at how a small pottery business actually runs beyond the making.
• Learn how materials are managed: clay preparation, recycling, budgeting and production planning.
• Understand the realities of running a studio: time constraints, costs, capacity, and workflow decisions.
• See how creative work is balanced with commercial demands like orders, consistency, and deadlines.
• Experience the less glamorous but essential side of studio life: cleaning, organising and maintaining systems.
• Hand-build 1–2 ceramic pieces, while understanding how each piece fits into a wider production process.
• Get honest insight into the risks and challenges of sustaining a one-person creative business.
• No experience needed, just curiosity and willingness to get hands-on.
