Part-Time Computer Science Teacher

Location: Star Vista Education, Kajang, Selangor
Employment Type: Part-Time / Hourly Basis
Working Days: Flexible (Weekdays, subject to class schedule)

About the Role

Star Vista Education is looking for a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Part-Time Computer Science Teacher to inspire students in computational thinking, programming, and digital innovation. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons that prepare students for Oxford Computer Science examinations while equipping them with practical skills for the rapidly evolving technology landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons in accordance with the Oxford Computer Science curriculum.
• Teach programming concepts, algorithms, computational thinking, computer systems, data representation, networking, cybersecurity, and software development.
• Guide students through practical programming exercises and coding projects.
• Prepare students for coursework and external examinations.
• Encourage logical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and innovation.
• Incorporate project-based learning and real-world technology applications into lessons.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain a safe and productive computer laboratory environment.
• Participate in STEM initiatives, coding competitions, robotics activities, or technology-related school events where appropriate.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience teaching IGCSE Computer Science or an equivalent international curriculum.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or other relevant languages.
• Strong understanding of computer systems, networking, cybersecurity, and software development principles.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Cambridge, OxfordAQA, or other international examination boards.
• Industry experience in software development, IT, or technology.
• Experience teaching coding, robotics, artificial intelligence, or digital technologies.
• Ability to integrate Project-Based Learning (PBL), design thinking, and innovation into the classroom.
