Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist engineers in preparing technical documents, drawings, method statements, and reports.
- Support site measurements, quantity take-off (QTO), and basic surveying tasks.
- Provide assistance in testing, inspection, and verification of construction materials and workmanship.
- Help monitor construction progress and record work activities.
- Build Assist in supervising daily site activities under direction of the Site Engineer.
- Conduct site observations, collect field data, and compile daily records.
- Assist in carrying out inspections (structural, drainage, utilities, roads, earthworks, etc.).
- Prepare site photographs, sketches, and notes for reporting purposes.
- Prepare daily site reports, material tracking records, and inspection forms.
- Maintain organized records of drawings, documents, permits, and correspondence.
- Assist in compiling progress reports, QA/QC checklists, and safety documentation.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel for work sequencing.
- Communicate engineering instructions and updates to relevant parties under guidance from the engineer.
- Support meetings by preparing minutes, technical notes, and documentation.
- Manage tools, equipment, and materials needed for site operations.
- Assist in tracking manpower, equipment usage, and site logistics.
- Handle document submission, permit applications, and filing.
- Ensure site work complies with safety rules and project regulations.
- Assist in safety briefings and hazard reporting.
- Maintain PPE and enforce safety practices among workers when necessary.
Requirement:
- Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field; fresh graduates or candidates with 1–3 years of experience in civil engineering/construction projects. Experience in site inspection, supervision, surveying, or documentation is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD 2020 or higher. Knowledge of Revit or Civil 3D is a plus. Basic competency with survey equipment (GPS/Total Station) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) is required.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, plans, and specifications. Physically fit and able to perform outdoor work, including walking sites and handling light equipment.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Adaptable, willing to learn, safety-conscious, and capable of problem-solving in practical site scenarios.
- Good verbal and written communication skills. Able to prepare reports, interact professionally with engineers, contractors, and site personnel, and maintain a positive, cooperative attitude.
