Role Summary

Lead and deliver IT projects within a banking environment, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and technology standards. The role requires strong project governance, stakeholder management, and experience in handling complex banking systems and compliance-driven initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Delivery

• Define project scope, objectives, and success criteria
• Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and deliverables
• Ensure end-to-end delivery across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget

2. Stakeholder Management

• Engage business users, IT teams, vendors, and senior management
• Act as the primary point of contact for project communications
• Facilitate meetings, steering committees, and status updates

3. Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to IT governance frameworks and internal policies
• Align with regulatory requirements from Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM)
• Maintain proper documentation for audits and compliance reviews

4. Risk & Issue Management

• Identify, track, and mitigate project risks and issues
• Escalate critical blockers and drive resolution
• Maintain risk and issue logs

5. Financial & Resource Management

• Manage project budgets (CAPEX / OPEX) and cost tracking
• Plan and allocate resources effectively
• Monitor vendor performance and contract deliverables

6. Testing & Deployment

• Oversee SIT, UAT, and regression testing phases
• Ensure readiness for production deployment
• Manage release and change processes (CAB approvals, RFCs)

7. Vendor & Third-Party Management

• Manage external vendors for system development and integration
• Drive RFP, RFQ, and contract negotiations
• Ensure delivery meets agreed SLAs and quality standards

Banking Domain Exposure (Required/Preferred)

• Core Banking Systems (e.g., deposits, loans, payments)
• Digital Banking (mobile / internet banking)
• Payment Systems (e.g., DuitNow, FPX, SWIFT)
• Regulatory / Compliance Projects
• Risk, AML, or cybersecurity initiatives

Required SkillsCore Skills

• Strong project management and delivery experience
• Stakeholder and vendor management
• Budgeting, planning, and risk management

Technical Understanding

• Solid knowledge of SDLC
• Experience with system integration, APIs, or enterprise platforms
• Familiarity with tools like Jira, MS Project, ServiceNow

• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Problem-solving and decision-making

Qualifications

• Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Typically 5–10 years of IT project management experience
• Experience in banking or financial services is highly preferred

• PMP (Project Management Professional)
• PRINCE2
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) / Agile certification
• ITIL Foundation

Pay: RM9,449.30 - RM16,844.22 per month
