Company Description ERA BARU SHIPPING AND TRADING is ship owner / operator company based in Ipoh , Perak

Responsibilities

Manage and supervise assigned vessels.

Ensure vessels are maintained in accordance with company, Class, and statutory requirements.

Review vessel reports and ensure defects are rectified promptly.

Plan and coordinate Class surveys, inspections, and dry dockings.

Monitor Conditions of Class (CoC) and ensure timely completion.

Attend vessel inspections, repairs, and dockings when required.

Follow up on maintenance, defects, and outstanding repairs.

Monitor the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) and ensure records are updated correctly.

Review and approve store requisitions and technical repair requests.

Ensure critical equipment and spare parts are properly maintained.

Conduct regular vessel visits to assess the condition of the hull, machinery, and equipment.

Prepare technical reports and provide updates during Company Operational Meetings (COM).

Investigate technical issues and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Provide technical support and training to vessel crews when required.

Requirements

Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Marine Engineer Certificate with sea-going experience as Chief Engineer or Marine Engineer.

Minimum 2 years of shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent or similar position.

Good knowledge of Class, ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL, and Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS).

Good communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Able to work independently and under pressure.

Willing to travel on short notice when required.
