Maintenance Manager (Electrical/Chargeman)

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead our electrical maintenance operations. The successful candidate will ensure that all facilities, machinery, and electrical systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently while meeting regulatory and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance and Operations

• Plan, manage, and oversee daily maintenance activities to minimize downtime and prevent operational disruptions.
• Develop and execute scheduled, preventive, and predictive maintenance programmes.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and ensure repairs are completed safely and promptly.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend reliability improvements, upgrades, or capital investments.
• Monitor energy consumption and implement practical energy-saving initiatives.
• Manage the departmental budget, spare-parts inventory, tools, resources, and vendor contracts.
• Coordinate with Production, Safety, Quality, and other departments to support operational efficiency.

Team Leadership and Compliance

• Lead, supervise, coach, and develop the maintenance team.
• Assign duties, prioritize work, monitor performance, and manage team resources.
• Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga requirements and all applicable safety, health, quality, and electrical regulations.
• Support internal and external audits, regulatory inspections, and corrective-action activities.
• Maintain statutory records and recommend improvements to electrical safety and compliance.

Reporting and Documentation

• Prepare maintenance forecasts, performance reports, analytical findings, and maintenance statistics for management review.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, equipment history, incidents, and electrical abnormalities.
• Investigate electrical faults or incidents and submit the necessary findings and recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Valid Chargeman Certificate—A0, A1, A4, B0, B4, or another applicable category—registered with Suruhanjaya Tenaga.
• At least 7–10 years of maintenance experience, including a minimum of three years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Strong hands-on knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, power distribution, equipment maintenance, and preventive maintenance.
• Sound understanding of relevant legislation, electrical codes, and occupational safety and health requirements.
• Strong leadership, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Proficiency in electrical diagnostic tools and maintenance-related software.
• Good communication, teamwork, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Strong sense of responsibility, urgency, and attention to detail.

Key Authority

The Maintenance Manager is authorized to:

• Prioritize maintenance work and allocate approved resources.
• Implement and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programmes.
• Manage approved departmental expenditure and maintenance-related services.
• Enforce safety, health, electrical, and energy compliance requirements.
• Supervise and verify electrical work within the authorized Chargeman licence scope.
• Initiate corrective or preventive action for hazards, equipment risks, or non-compliance.
• Evaluate team performance and manage personnel matters in accordance with company and HR policies.
