岗位职责

Job Purpose

The General Manager is responsible for the overall business leadership, strategic direction, and commercial performance of the MRO organization, which holds dual regulatory approvals under CAAM (Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia) and FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) Part 145. The GM drives business growth, financial performance, and organizational effectiveness across Store/Materials, HR, Finance, and Customer Support, while working in close coordination with the Operations Manager and QA Manager — both of whom report directly to the Accountable Manager to preserve regulatory independence. The role reports directly to the Director/Accountable Manager.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Business Management

  • Execute the business strategy, direction, and annual/long-term targets set with the Director/Accountable Manager
  • Drive business growth, new market/customer development, and expansion of service capabilities
  • Represent the company in dealings with customers, vendors, and industry stakeholders (regulatory matters remain primarily with the Accountable Manager and QA Manager)
  • Report company performance, risks, and strategic matters regularly to the Director/Accountable Manager

2. Coordination on Regulatory Compliance (CAAM & FAA)

  • Support the Accountable Manager and QA Manager in maintaining the company's CAAM and FAA Part 145 approvals in good standing, from a business and resourcing standpoint
  • Ensure Store/Materials, HR, Finance, and Customer Support functions operate in a manner that supports overall regulatory compliance
  • Provide business resources (budget, manpower, systems) needed by Operations and QA to meet compliance requirements
  • Escalate any business-side compliance risks (e.g., resourcing, budget constraints) to the Director/Accountable Manager

3. Coordination with Operations

  • Liaise closely with the Operations Manager to align operational capacity with business/commercial demand and customer commitments
  • Provide business input on resource planning, budget, and capital expenditure requests raised by Operations
  • Support Operations in customer-facing matters (via Customer Support) to ensure smooth job intake, turnaround, and delivery
  • Monitor overall business impact of operational performance (revenue, customer satisfaction, cost) and raise concerns through appropriate channels

4. Coordination with Quality Assurance

  • Liaise with the QA Manager on business planning matters that intersect with quality/compliance requirements (e.g., budget for audits, training, system upgrades)
  • Ensure QA has the business support and resources needed to maintain the quality management system
  • Respect and safeguard QA's independent reporting line to the Accountable Manager in line with regulatory requirements

5. Store & Materials Oversight

  • Directly oversee the Store/Materials function to ensure proper inventory control, parts traceability, and procurement processes
  • Ensure compliance with parts certification, traceability, and airworthiness documentation requirements
  • Monitor stock levels, supplier performance, and materials cost management

6. Support Function Oversight (HR, Finance, Customer Support)

  • Directly oversee HR on manpower planning, recruitment, compliance, and employee relations to support business needs
  • Directly oversee Finance function on budgeting, cost control, cash flow, invoicing/collections, and financial reporting
  • Directly oversee the Customer Support function to ensure strong customer relationships, timely quotations, and effective issue resolution
  • Ensure alignment between these support functions and the needs of Operations and QA

7. Financial & Business Performance

  • Manage day-to-day P&L performance of the company on behalf of the Director/Accountable Manager
  • Prepare and recommend budgets, pricing strategies, and major expenditures for approval
  • Monitor financial performance against targets and implement corrective measures as needed
  • Drive cost efficiency and profitability across all departments under direct oversight, and in coordination with Operations/QA budgets

8. People Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop direct-report department heads (Store, HR, Finance, Customer Support)
  • Maintain a strong working relationship and regular alignment meetings with the Operations Manager and QA Manager
  • Foster a high-performance culture, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration across the whole organization
  • Support succession planning and leadership development for key roles
  • Recommend organizational structure changes and key hiring decisions to the Director/Accountable Manager

9. Risk Management & Governance

  • Identify and manage business and commercial risks, escalating significant risks to the Director/Accountable Manager
  • Ensure proper insurance coverage, contracts, and legal compliance across the business
  • Uphold corporate governance standards and ethical business practices
  • Support (without overriding) the independent risk/compliance escalation channels held by QA and Operations to the Accountable Manager

Key Requirements

  • Degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (Aviation Maintenance/Engineering background strongly preferred)
  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in the aviation MRO industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership/management role
  • Working knowledge of CAAM and/or FAA Part 145 regulatory environments and understanding of independent QA/Operations reporting structures
  • Strong track record in P&L management, business development, and organizational leadership

Key Skills

  • Strategic execution and business acumen
  • Executive leadership and stakeholder management
  • Financial management and commercial judgment
  • Understanding of Part 145 organizational/regulatory independence principles
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills (customers, Director/Accountable Manager, department heads)
  • Change management and organizational development

Pay: From RM10,000.00 per month
